Reminder: The Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective Workshop w... @ Sat May 14 8pm - 11pm (The Society of CT LLC Events)

The Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective Workshop with Hepatitis vaccinations

Saturday, May 14th, The Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective will be at the Society of CT for a informative workshop with free hepatitis vaccine and all kinds of prizes!

Are you protected against Hepatitis A and B?

We will be offering vaccine immunizations to prevent Hepatitis A and B.
Hepatitis A is a series of 2 doses 6 months apart.
If BOTH vaccines are needed, we use a Hep A/B combination, and it is a 3 shot series
– 1st dose given now, 2nd in 1 mo. and the 3rd dose in 6 mos.
Completing the vaccine series should give you lifetime Hepatitis A/B protection.
HGLHC offers free Hepatitis A/B vaccines to members of The Society when given at Society functions.

Hepatitis A and B can be sexually transmitted.
Blood and all sexual fluids can carry Hepatitis B.
Hepatitis A is transmitted in stool, so it can be spread by anal sex, rimming, shared toys used anally, or food contaminated in restaurants or often in raw shellfish (oysters or clams). because human waste gets dumped into the ocean, and shellfish harbor the Hep A virus.

Group class/presentation:
"What's Fun? What's Hot? What's Safe? What's Not?"

This is a 20-30 minute group activity using various sexual behavior and BDSM/fetish play cards being placed by participants onto a velcro board classifying them by "RISK" factors from "No Risk – High Risk" for transmission of HIV or STDs. Discussion centers around group opinion of those risks, and what part of that practice makes something STD-safe or dangerous? Lots of condoms, lube, candy and toys keep the ideas hopping and the juices flowing.
Safer Sex IS Hot Sex!
